So why does the ampersand deserve a blog all to itself? The ampersand is often the most expressive typographic symbol in a font family. It has innate flair. Makes us wonder how many other symbols or letters have their own blogs — let us know if you find any.

Typefoundry explores the history of type through single examples. It has been going for a few years now, but it’s only updated every few months, so each new post has become something of an event. It’s unashamedly academic too, which is actually somehow refreshing.
