It’s hard to get a grasp on the current size of the BP oil spill. With this map you can overlay the spill size anywhere in the world and the results are shocking. As of today it spans Swansea to Norwich. The link also includes a video feed and info about how to help.

What’s the opposite of a boycott? A Carrotmob! Consumers decide which businesses merit being rewarded, for example for social responsibility or energy efficiency. Then on an agreed day the business is mobbed, and the consequent leap in sales is reinvested in the good cause.
