There are plenty of resources online for green issues. Yet the one we keep on coming back to is TreeHugger – mainly as no others seem to be quite as interesting (or as innovatively designed). It’s also about as far away from the typical green clichés as possible, and for this reason alone, long may it continue.

If you’re ever lucky enough to find yourself in the Gargano area of Puglia, Italy without a bed for the night, then the Torre dei Preti really should be your first port of call. When we stayed here, the owner made us feel so welcome that since then we’ve been counting down the days until we can go back.

Etsy is the perfect antidote to too much technology – it’s a sort of online craft fair without the bizarre musty smell. Where else can you find a handmade iPhone cover made of felt, each icon recreated with a few perfectly placed stitches? Check out Tobyboo, Stefanie Xu and Little Cotton Rabbits.

Lovely as a Tree is one of our favourite sites, ever. It is a fantastic resource for environmentally aware graphic design, with the perfect tone of voice: fresh, informative and not at all cutesy. We only wish that we’d done it. Oooh — the envy!
